Try calling Dan at the Sailboat Junkyard in Long Beach, CA 310-795-8978 . Dan does sailboat salvage, mostly for the lead but he has quite a bit of hardware. He told me he had salvaged at least 6 or 7, E-27's this year alone. Sad to hear. I think I saw a tiller cap last time I was there. No web site for this place. There's no sign on the street. I think it's around 17th & Hayes in Long Beach, CA, west of the 710 Fwy, just one block south of Pacific Coast Highway. Sorry I have misplaced the address.
thanks for the info... will check out manana, maybe these guys have the hatch covers or oher stuff Im looking for, reading that so many E 27s are being salvaged is so... am at a loss for words!
Yeah, it's a sign of the times. Economy and high mooring fees, property taxes as well as compliance regulations at a lot of Marinas. Dan get's .60 cents a pound for the lead so a E-27's lead alone get's him about $1740. bucks. He had a beautiful sliding hatch about 6 months ago and sold it for $150. I did see a companion way ladder that was in pretty good shape the last time I was there.
