Hi,
We recently purchased a pretty beat up 1972 E27. We know that there is water getting into the deck and seeping down into the cabin at the chainplates. The not so reputable inspector thought the chainplates looked OK but upon my husband's closer inspection they look like they have some surface rust below decks. Since they are glassed into the hull they are going to be a big huge effort to replace (as far as we know). It has been a freshwater boat in Oregon- the Columbia. Any advice on this matter? Should we be worried and go for some type of replacement? Loren, you seem to have lots of Ericson knowledge, would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks! mia
