E30+ Rudder length

I was doing a bottom job on my '85 Ericson 30+ boat when a former Ericson owner stopped by and wondered if I had lengthned the rudder. I did not think about it much at the time, because both the rudder and shaft hole show no signs of stress, but now it has me wondering if any ill conceived mods were made. The rudder measures 43" tall - does anyone know if this is standard?

Rudder length on 1980 30+

I don't have a measurement for you, but attached is a picture of the rudder length compared to the keel depth. I hope this helps. Thanks, Ken
