We do plan to attend, but it will have to be via vehicle . We need to find a motel within easy walk of the appropriate part of the marina.

I am going to try to drive up for a day, assuming the surgeon has given me the OK to walk by then.

For those with maybe unsteady plans but would like to go to the Rendezvous:
Update on Rendezvous cancellation policy from Cap Sante Marina. If you sign up and cannot make it, and cancel 24 hours in advance, you will not be charged. If you do not show up and do not cancel, you will be billed 1 night moorage.

Tomorrow, June 13 I turn in the list and get assigned slips. After that you can still possibly find a slip at the marina but not necessarily with the group.

Unfortunately, it looks like Sagres won’t be making it this year. We embarked on a repower, and as one might expect with a 52 year old boat, we keep finding new surprises that need to be dealt with. (Latest, this morning, is that our prop strut is rotting out and needs to be replaced).

All of that said, though, we wouldn’t by opposed to organizing next year if there isn’t anyone from this side of the line willing to take up the mantle.

Sorry to hear Sagres won't be joining. Good luck on the work. We will miss seeing you. Thanks for offer to organize 2026 BC site. You may get a call.

Rendezvous Update:

I have submitted our list of boats to the Marina with proposed slip assignments. I will send that info out as soon as the Marina confirms the slips. We are in a line side by side on C dock.

I have also forwarded requests to Marina for the same slip, for those that asked for extra days before or after. For those who requested extra days, if you haven’t already, you need to contact Marina directly. They will need credit card to confirm reservation for the extra days.

I am working on a schedule of activities. Looking for comments, additional input, and volunteers. My first swing, draft schedule for the Rendezvous is as follows:

Friday July 11:

Starting 1 PM Arrival at Anacortes Cap Sante Marina. Pick up Welcome Packets at Slip C-44.
4 PM and later - Happy Hour at the Barge, BYOB, bring snacks, share if you like, dinner, and general socializing

Saturday July 12:

10 - Noon: Boat Walk - Show off your Ericson to the rest of us
1 - 2:30 PM: EYO Forum Topics – on the Barge - submit a topic you would like to present or discuss
Example: Fishing from a sailboat / Otto
2:30 - 3:30 PM: Blindfold Dinghy Race and/or Corn hole grudge match on the beach
3:30 - 4:30 PM: Happy Hour on the Barge
5 - 7 PM : Potluck dinner on the Barge
7 – 9 PM: Nautical Jeopardy on the Barge

Sunday July 13:
10 AM Coffee on the Barge, Autograph & Hand off Mermaid/Banner to BC 2026 organizer
Farewell and departure by Noon unless staying extra days.

Other activities in Anacortes:
  • Maritime Heritage Center/ WT Preston is just north of the marina and easy to spot. Center is open 10AM – 4 PM, tour the steam powered paddle wheeler.
  • Marine Tech Center tour POC Greg on Wildfire might be able to arrange if interest
  • Walk to Cap Sante Park Viewpoint, either by way of marina walk to Oren Gazebo, then climb the hill via steep trail or, a leisurely walk any street north to 4th St, turn right on 4th to V Ave, right on V Ave, then following your nose and watching out for herd of deer to the Viewpoint parking lot.
  • Walk Commercial Ave the business district with Farmers Market Saturday 9AM, also several restaurants, pubs, and interesting storefronts.
  • Safeway is 1 block away, West Marine 3 blocks away

Hey All,

Just noticed this was happening in a couple weeks!

My husband and I have our 1987 Ericson 34’ “Odelay,” moored at Cap Sante on O dock. We’re currently working on projects, so I’m not sure she’ll be running by then to dock with you, but we’ll definitely come over to join the fun.

We’ve had our old girl since 2012 and this will be our first meetup!

Hi Shauna and Nick-
Welcome! Please come over and attend as much as you have time for. There are already several that are coming without their boats. I will make up a pennant for you!

Really wish we could join everyone, but when your prop strut looks like the attached photo… your repower gets grossly extended.

On the other hand, “Big Red” looks awfully good in the engine bay…

Ouch! on the strut. Agree, that is a nice looking engine install. Maybe swap out the steps for plexiglass so you can admire it more.

Hi Kevin
We still have spaces left. You are in.
Dave
Hi Dave, It’s Tom Dilworth on Ellie. I’m still planning on attending the rendevous but would like to get there the day before, and maybe stay the day after. Should I call the marina to arrange that, or should I go through you? Thanks!

Hi Dave, We just learned of this today from someone down the dock from us in Blaine. They will be there, but we won't know until our engine is up and running. The injectors are sitting on the stove cover. We hope for a smooth running engine this week. How should we proceed at this late date?

Hi Phil
It would be great to have you if you can make it. You would need to call the Cap Sante Marina directly (360 293 0694) to make a reservation. Let them know you are with the Ericson Rendezvous. Hopefully you can get a slip in or near the group. We are on C dock. Then go work on your engine. You can cancel any time up to 48 hrs before (like Wed morning before noon) without a fee.

Hi Dave - I've not received reservation information, payment and all that stuff. Is it going out, perhaps to an old e-mail address of mine, I need to check on that. We plan to be there, but don't want to be party crashers. Phil and I had a nice walk through of each others boats today, it was good to meet another Ericsson owner on the dock in Blaine.
