PNW Ericson Rendezvous reservation info

I sure enjoyed the event, meeting all of you, and touring your beautiful boats. The Rendevous left me with a renewed appreciation of Ericson built sailboats (I added the word “built” for you, Loren) and in particular, the type of people who sail them. So after 4 summers of sailing around this beautiful area, it’s time to to return Ellie closer to home. My plan is to home port her in SF Bay, so if any of you are down there and are up for a rollicking sail on the bay, especially in the summer, give me a call. Thanks again for including me in the get-together!

We're now back at work this week (sigh), but still talking about the fun we had meeting everyone last weekend in Anacortes and all the fabulous boats we got to see IRL. Always great to meet other Ericson owners! And, we have to give a shout out to Dave and Joslin for all of the work they put into organizing this weekend on our behalf and everything else they contributed and did to make it a success. It was very much appreciated!

Thanks everyone for pitching in and making the Rendezvous so great. Especially thanks to Otto and Johann for giving great talks on fishing and on rigging with dyneema. I really enjoyed chatting with old friends and meeting some surprising new friends. And, ALL THE GREAT FOOD!

Thank you Hans for offering to organize next year in case no one else steps forward. Now is the time to volunteer for organizing 2026 in Canada, for those who might consider it.

Update on Odelay-
TLDR-valves out of adjustment, valve cover lever incorrectly positioned.

The older Universal diesel (Kubota block) had a lever that allowed one to hold open the valves - i.e. a compression release lever. In theory you could turn the engine over easily even with a low battery and then close the valves once it was spinning. Or, so I was told. I have never tried this, so my info is second hand.

I have a 1983 universal M30 engine, and I have not been able to get the compression release lever to work with out putting a wrench on it. I'd love to have it functional to help in a depleted battery situation, it anyone knows how to adjust that, I would love to hear it.

This team rocks, great information flow's and I will be adding to it soon!
