To make your reservation:
- Click on the green reservations rectangle on the marina home page.
- Toward the end of your reservation, in “Special Instructions”, state “Ericson Rendezvous 2023”. This lets the marina know you are part of this rendezvous and will group our boats together.

Plan ahead: Deer Harbor is popular, so make your reservation early so they can accommodate our boats in a group. Even if you are not sure you will be attending, make your reservation now. You can cancel days before the rendezvous without a penalty if you cannot attend. Dock reservations overall will be filling up, so it is likely doubtful they will have dock space available for late reservations in the height of summer, even outside of our grouping.

Deer Harbor Marina Reservation and Cancellation Policy: Our cancellation policy is 24 hrs. notice prior to date of arrival. (Call us by noon the day prior to your arrival date to avoid getting charged for one day). For reservations, The DOCKWA reservation system requires a card to charge you. The first day is charged when the reservation is confirmed and any subsequent days are charged on the day of arrival. If there is a cancellation more than 24 hours before the day of arrival, any of these charges that have been processed will be refunded.

For our planning purposes, please reply in this thread when you have made a reservation.

We have asked for the ‘party barge’ and use of the grill for Saturday’s dinner gathering. There are several other areas to group in ‘dock pockets/areas’, but we can’t book those. We will check into the restaurants and venues within walking distance for potential gathering spaces.

We will get a survey out for shaping the event in the upcoming week. Let us know if you’ve an idea for a presentation or speaker. We will be looking into ideas on that also, as well as drafting a 1/2 sheet flyer you can print out to spread to other Ericsons in your local areas!

I just reserved, Friday night thru Sunday nite. I do not recall paying that much when we docked there in 2014. No extra charge for 30 amp power, tho.

Edit: just checked the transient rate at Pt Angeles, and it would be about $56. altho there we can probably use our reciprocal privilege for a night. Prices are evidently up considerably, everywhere. What with not cruising much for the last several years I forgot just how much prices have risen, like everything else.
Edit f#2: Just exchanged emails with out club's Reciprocals Chair, and they stay at this place in 2019 for $65./night including 30 amp power. They have a 34 footer.
So, inflation happens, and I should not be surprised. i.e. I am whining too much!

@Loren Beach I mentioned in our original post that Deer Harbor Marina was more expensive than some of the other marinas in the area.

One drawback for Deer Harbor Marina is the price of moorage. It will be about $2.60/ft next summer, in line with Roche Harbor Marina prices. Port of Anacortes and Port Townsend marina prices are closer to $1.60/ft.

Yes, there is car ferry service from Anacortes WA. If you want to make a ferry reservation this summer to Orcas Island, we strongly encourage you to make a ferry reservation on April 18, 2023 at 7 am. Yes, I did mean to be that specific.

Vehicle space on the ferries during the summer is limited and making reservations is a competitive sport. If anyone is interested in getting a ferry reservation, send me a DM and we can help with strategies. Virginia and I ran a weekend camp on Orcas for 19 years and are very familiar with this, but we don’t need to bore (or horrify) the rest of the Ericson owners.

Don’t be deterred from coming to the Rendezvous - it just takes a little extra effort to ensure an stress-free ride.

I hope I did not sound critical. Even a little research shows that commercial moorage rates in that whole area are up from what I dimly recall.

Kenmore Air (Seattle) provides land plane service OR float plane service to Orcas Island. They also seem to have a shuttle from SeaTac.
Something for Ericson owners from outside the NW to maybe consider if wanting to attend. They will need to reserve a place to stay adjacent to Deer Harbor rather soon, I would guess.
