Our here in the NW, we "winter" afloat, but with 'pink' antifreeze drawn in thru the whole engine raw water circuit, from intake valve to transom exhaust. I drain and clean the water tanks and run the pressure water system until it spits air for a few minutes. Unlike your climate we seldom have a freeze in the low 20's for more than a week. (Our biggest problem is usually mold and mildew.)
