The sliding hatch on my E27 was an absolute mess. You could poke your finger through it in multiple spots, and everytime we used it, it would rain wood down into the cabin.
I couldn't find anyone that was making these, so I ended up making my own from scratch and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. I sealed the whole thing in West System Epoxy, followed by UV resistant varnish and some UHMW sliders to help with the stickiness that always seems to develop on the original sliders too.
Please forgive the mismatched color, I need to strip the dropboards and other brightwork and stain them to match too.
When I was building it I had to make up some jigs, which I still have. I know I would loved to have found someone to build me one, so I'm wondering if there would be any interest in me making some more for other boats. I'd put them in the for sale forum, but I thought I'd show off the fruits of my labor and get your thoughts to boot.
