OK is it just me, or did the bigger engine cause the boat to drop that much to cause the boot stripe to be submerged and covered with bottom paint, as shown on the picture? Could that also be part of the control issue?
Weight of the M25 is given as 285#, and my guess is that original A4 was a different weight.
I have done some web searches and found one site with a weight for the direct-drive version given as 310# and the reduction gear version as 330#.
Interesting that the diesel engine is lighter.
Located about a third of the way forward, I do not see how just the engine could account for all of the stern squat evident in that picture. I wonder if there is a heavy fuel tank under the cockpit? Lots of other gear routinely stored way back aft?
the current owner has had her just about a year. when I posed the boot strap query he thought that perhaps she was between inboards and equiped with a outboard at the last bottom job. the holes in the stern suggest an outboard was in her past.
