PNW Ericson Rendezvous reservation info

Hi All
I just talked to my contact at Cap Sante Marina. They have blocked out 20 slips together for us. Do not make your reservations through the marina for July 11-13 Ericson Rendezvous. They ask instead that I collect the names and contact info for those who plan to come. I will be getting the forms from them next week including a map of our slips. I will do my best to make the slip assignments within the block of slips prioritized by the order I get the emails in. If you have specific requests (starboard/port tie, or next to another boat, or shortest walk to the head, etc) I will need this info.

One month prior to the Rendezvous (June 13) I will turn in the list of attendees, boat and contact info, and assigned slip locations to the marina office. The remaining reserved slips will then be released. If you decide after June 13 that you want to attend, you can then still make reservation request through Cap Sante Marina based on slip availability, but the slip may not be within our group.

You can declare your intentions publicly in this forum (some already have). I suggest that you do not post your private info here though. Instead you can direct message me with your contact info and preferences.

Also, If you plan to come a day early or stay a day late, you will need to get a separate reservation through the marina for the extra day(s). We can coordinate that so it is the same slip as for the Rendezvous. For this, I suggest you call in your reservation request to the marina (360-293-0694) since there is no place on the website form to state your connection with the Ericson Rendezvous.

More to come next week when I get the actual forms.

OK! I received the reservation package from Cap Sante Marina. It is a bit different than I am used to but I see the advantages.

1. All boats for Rendezvous 7/11-13 will make reservations only through me. We have 20 slips set aside of varied lengths.
2. No money or card required to reserve. If you think you are going, I suggest you reserve a spot.
3. You will pay when you get to the marina.
4. I will assign slips based on your preferances and availability when you reserve. First in-first choices.
5. Cancel through me if needed, to up to 3 weeks before.
6. I turn in the list with the info to Cap Sante about 3 weeks before the event. All remaining unclaimed slips will be released
7. I dont know what the cancelation policy is within the 3 weeks. I will look into it.

8. Information needed for the form ( I suggest you DM me with info) :
Name:
Phone #
email address:
Vessel Name/ID:
Vessel Make:
LOA & Beam:
Arrival & Depart date (7/11-13):

9. If you are arriving a day early or staying extra, you should call the Marina and ask for same slip as assigned for the event.
10. There are 7 boats that have already indicated they plan to attend. I have the dates I received and will work them first, but need all the information above from them also to fill out the forms.
11. There are others who have "thumbs up" to the discussion arrangements. I dont know if that means they are coming. Please let me know.

Open for business, here we go.

I plan to attend, but I'm not sure if I will need a slip or not, yet. I'm docked within walking distance at Anacortes Marina. I'll decide in the next couple of weeks. It would be nice to be next to everyone, but the walk back home Saturday night would probably do me good.

David,
Thanks again for organizing!
Looking forward to meeting folks and boats.
Note the low tides of July 9-12? for your transiting plans.
Our crew are creating plans for being aboard MORNING RAIN both during and after Rendezvous, and I'll be departing to Baker Lake for family sockeye fishing/ camping on the 13th, when "Salmon Camp" begins. Here are some pics from a recent CCA presentation...just in case you want to come up for a day visit:

thanks Marlin & Virginia!
I have you on the list. I have enough of your details for now. I will need some boat info around June 1 when I turn in the forms. I will make the plea to all then, after everyone's plans have settled in.
Note to all: I do not take any of the expense info. You will take care of that with Cap Sante marina upon arrival.

Hi Dave,

I’m from San Diego. A few years ago I sailed my ‘67 Ericson 30 up to your neck of the woods and have been enjoying the area immensely for the past three summers. If you still have room for another boat, I’d like to join the Rendevous before I head back down the coast this summer. Let me know if you have room and I’ll DM you my contact info.

Thanks! Tom Dilworth, E-30, “Ellie”

Hi Tom
Yes, there is still room. I will put you and your boat on the list. Easy to cancel if your plans change.

Do you have preference bow in- Starboard/Port tie?

I will need boat ID and contact info by early June when I turn in the list to the marina.
Thanks! Hope to see you and hear about your travels.

Hi All

I would like to repeat what Virginia did for 2023 with leafleting the marinas to spread the word. The idea is for any volunteers to print off a number of these Flyers (attached) and post them in their marina offices and/or insert a copy into a ziploc bag with a a bit of gravel as ballest and drop them into cockpits of Ericsons in your marina. Virginia kindly updated her previous flyer for us. Thank you Virginia! I plan to go through Shilshole Marina in the next week.

For future, it would be nice to get reports back from volunteers if any other marinas are targetted and also if you happen to count how many Ericsons you see in the marina. (would be nice to see how effective the technique is, or maybe just because I like data.)

I also will try to get a blurb into 48 North about the Rendezvous. Any help on writing copy would be appreciated also.
thanks
Dave Gane

Hi All,
In about 2 weeks I will be finalizing the list of attendees and releasing the extra slips back to the marina. Currently on my list in some form are : Brass Dragon, Sagres, Morning Rain, Jenny, Wildfire, Swallow, Ellie, and Jim's E35-3. On the list w/o moorage are Special K and Gamine. If anyone else is sitting on the fence, now is time to let me know. If you need to get off the list, let me know. We still have slips available with the group. There is no moorage payment due until you arrive at the dock. No extras, just transient moorage rate.

I have some of this info already but now need all details to fill in the form. If you havent already, please DM me thru EYO website with this info below.
Name
Ph #
email address
Vessel Name / ID
Vessel Make /Model
LOA
Beam
Arrival date (7/11/25) If you plan to arrive or depart on different dates, we need to c/o with the marina also.
Depart date (7/13/25)

Also,
For others attending but not needing a slip, I still would like to get your name, Vessel Name & Make/Model. I am making up pennants to hang on the boats or around your neck if you like.

I'm.... uh.... on the fence, and will be for a bit longer (lots of things in flux right now)

What's your recommendation? Should I register, knowing I might need to cancel later? Or not register and hope I can get a slip if I need one?

Also, regardless of how that turns out.... would love to buy a pennant if that's possible.

Hi Bruce
How about I put a tentative marker on a slip for you. Let me know if you are in before I have to turn in the list (mid June). In mean time, I will also check what the cost for late cancel is. They may want a reservation fee or something for late cancelation.

Regarding the personalized banners, I can fix you up with one if you want. I am just printing Ericson logo and each boat name & model on paper, then laminating and put grommets in If I get a chance. Figured we could hang them off bow pulpits. I planned initially to order up some, but kinda pricey for me to absorb and not enough time to do it after closing the reservations. BTW, on Amazon anyone can make a nice durable nylon one for about $15. The helmet logo file is on our website.

Dave, "Gamine" would like a slip with everyone else. I decided I don't want to walk the half mile back to Anacortes Marina every evening. Is it too late to sign up for a slip?
