Finding the leaks
A Chicago Spring 2020 downpour helped me put together a laundry list of how rain was getting into the interior of the boat. The first obvious suspect was the port side stantion that was attached to the deck by duct tape and wood screws. (Photo below). The other areas were all the ports except the one in the head. The companionway hatch was the third area that needed to be addressed. I started with the stantion since that posed the most problems. After removing the tape and screws, I found a piece of G10 that was cut perfectly to act as a plate on the underside of the deck. Lucky me. I think the previous owner may have had this repair on his list but never got to it. These projects took many weeks of the Spring of 2020 since I removed all the ports, cleaned them, resealed them with all new molding and glazing from a kit through Catalina direct.
