We've been debating on if it's almost time for a repower and have been going thru all of your blogs. Thank you so much for all the time you have taken to pass on all your valuable information! We look forward to meeting you and everyone we have learned so much from!We do plan to attend, but it will have to be via vehicle . We need to find a motel within easy walk of the appropriate part of the marina.
I'll be driving back Saturday afternoon but I'll need to leave no later than 3 pm.Transportation Requested: Saturday, July 12 late afternoon/early evening: FROM Anacortes To Seattle. One sailor (me.)
This may ENCOURAGE some Ericson owners who do not plan to voyage to the rendezvous and might rather drive the old fashion way. In particular, I will personally encourage anyone to join. If you can join AND provide me with transport... Bonus!
Our vessel, MORNING RAIN, will stay with crew, Johann, until he departs with vessel back to Seattle after Rendezvous... that's the plan for now.![]()
Oh no! I had my water pump go out on me the night before a 9-day Gulf Islands trip last year. I hadn't replaced the anode in theGot engine issues? We do. Today, our day 2 of 2 Transit days, our M25 Universal diesel showed signs of of overheating (165-190 normal). Symptoms simply began after overnighting in LaConner heading north. (Dramatic drop in volume of water being exhausted; temp gauge indicating increased temps with higher RPM: 175, 180, 190.)
We stopped (long story) and did the following:
1. Removed/cleaned raw water intake filter.
2. Removed and inspected hose between filter and impeller.
3. Forcibly pumped water (in reverse) via impeller hose through open intake valve/out thru-hull fitting.
4. Coolant and oil are at normal levels.
We may...
-shallow dive to finger thru hull.
-inspect , remove ; flush heat exchanger.
-inspect amd flush all hoses.
-remove and inspect impeller assembly.
Etc.
Rendezvous attendees get first-round dibbs at trying to solve mystery.
BTW: Erik at Kevin's in Burlington WA provides local heat exchanger services:
