Planing on sailing to the Isthmus on Great Thursday, April 21st, day before Good Friday, because it is bad luck to depart on a Friday. May only stay until Saturday the 23rd. My Boss said good weather is guaranteed. I am hoping the wild flower blooms will attract the Easter Bunny.

After many nights trying to decide where my next cruise is gonna take place..I have decided " Amigo" and I are doin the Great American Loop. I have friends all along the way and keep putting off visiting them due to me never wanting to leave the boat...I LOVE my boat! So...instead of driving the...
The Admiral has given me the "all clear" to solo. Had an awesome time on my second solo trip around the Long Beach Basin. Didn't have to worry about my crew freaking out! I thought there was a decent amount of traffic including some catamarans racing. I am pretty sure I entered their race...
These flashlights were 3 for under $12 at CostCo. O-rings at both ends, two brightness levels (4 or 14 LEDs on), run off 3 AA batteries. They feel really solid and are just under 6" long.

E31C wins 1st overall in double handed class, we had our wind for the series 20 -30 knots for the four race series. We ended up with 2 firsts and 1 third and one throw out to win the series. Who says a old heavy weight can't go fast!

A radar and AIS is in our future, can't justify not getting those pieces of equipment for safer cruising and crossings.
Unfortunately, the Garmin 2010c Chartplotter can't be interfaced with any radar. It cost over $3000 (according to the receipts) when new so we can't just dump it. Using...
Jeff,
We just got home and found it in the mailbox.
It is really wonderful !
Many thanks for the effort and the thought behind putting it together and sending it out. This is a keeper :egrin:

Kind of weird, but they let me (a civilian) in for the summer. I've got a slip there for my e27 (still awaiting launch) and am wondering if there's anyone else here with experience in the GLNS harbor. Last year, the largest boat in the slips was 26', so I'm wondering if I'm pushing the depth...

for SS fittings. They carry other stuff as well, having to do with canvas, but the SS fittings were the only things I had recent pricing experience with and they are really inexpensive ! They charge $8-9 for ea. a...
This is my buddies boat- he's getting married so in addition to no longer racing motorcycle with me, he's selling his boat. Tragic.

A great quote!
"I've always wanted to sail to the south seas, but I can't afford it." What these men can't afford is not to go. They are enmeshed in the cancerous discipline of security. And in the worship of security we fling our lives beneath the wheels of routine - and before we know it...
We had a great weekend sailing. We went to 2 beautiful spots in Casco Bay(the gosslings and Jewell I.) and we got to sit back and enjoy all the hard work we did this winter.
Here is a photo of the new galley faucet and sink. The original was too small for a dinner plate to sit flat and the...
All,
Here is the link to great set of pics from a small boat festival held in April 08 in a small port on the Oregon coast. We attended a couple of years ago and I can vouch that small craft builders and restorers have a LOT of fun (no matter what the weather...)
Enjoy!

I have been checking the website daily as we are actively searching for an E35 MkIII or an E34 from the late 80s. All the information posted from members concerning repairs, maintenance, specs, encouragement (I could go on and on) is fantastic and very useful. We live in the Pacific NW and...
Thinking about picking up a few bulb replacements for the stock Ericson interior lights -- check out the website..
I've never done business with them before but tempted to make an order and see how they work. Prices seem very resonable...
Friends!
An unusual request. Does anyone have an E34 (1988 or 1989, ideally) somewhere in the Great Lakes I could view and walk through. I've only seen pictures, but have a lead on an E34 way out of state. I need to find out what a 34 feels like, if you know what I mean. Anywhere in MN, WI...

These same hatches were listed at $225.00 last week and had no bids. Seller says he has more than one. I have been waiting for...
The wind came up to 10-12 knots today between 1 and 2pm. We had a great sail. Other than a couple of flostbite races going on, we were one of the only boats out there. 1 week left and we sail her to Freeport for hauling. I love sailing this time of year. No stinkpot wakes, very few pots and...
HI, I am finally parting away with my E27- It is up for sale and the price includes winter storage (Hingham, MA) and spring launch.
Boat is in the water until Mid to end OCT/06 and it is in sail away condition!
For details, pictures, complete listing and price here is the URL to my ad...
Left on Wednesday morning, hit 20 knots winds (maybe) got the old bird up to 8.4 knots. We just flew over there. Got soaked, the swells were something to behold. Should have reefed the main, but a sail like that is what it's all about.
Water was incredibly warm for diving.
Cleaned my hull...
Hi All,
Thought some of you might want to hear about a great product for preventing corrosion on aluminum (and probably lots of other things). It's called Nyalic & was developed by NASA for use in extreme conditions. It is a clear liquid which you paint on and it dries slightly glossy but...
Went out on an E35 today, out of Newport Beach. It was absolutely perfect - sunny, not hot, and a great 12-15 knot breeze that made that E boat honk!
Anybody else go out today?
Anyone plan on catching the start of this race?

Some very neat entries. Hope to see some other Vikings out there

Hey all you sailing junkies in So Cal! Would you agree that the days preceeding up to Labor Day have been awesome sailing?
I took off the sept 1 and 2 to sail and I have been in heaven. No seas whatsoever and the winds blowin 10k. The seas were so smooth reminded me when I used to waterski...
Hi all, have a question about the best Cheseapeake destinations. What are your favorite destinations and why! The Chesapeake is a wonderful place, with some of the best raft up possiblities and alot that are not known. So have fun and let everyone know how wonderful the Chesapeake is!

Hi All
Here are the first batch of photos from my first Catalina Trip of the year with my old buddy, Evergreen Slim from Seattle. We had outstanding weather that allowed us a great sail across the channel with winds up to 21 knots and six foot seas for the last 5 miles, as well as great...
I am considering taking my boat to a yard in New York, but am not at all familiar with the geography of the Great Lakes region, so my question:
Is there a way to take a boat with 50' mast height out of Lake Ontario to the Atlantic without going through the St. Lawrence?

Just had to tell of the great success racing my '87 E34! While I cruised for many years I got into racing a few years ago(at ate 64) and started slowly with this boat - with an old shortened roller furling 140. Then bought an ill fitting 150 short genoa off ebay for nearly nothing and the boat...
Most of this post is a copy of a message I posted to a diver board, but the weekend was full of outstanding sailing even without the story. La Petite sure is a blast. In 10 mps (20 mph) winds we did up to 6.5 kts sustained (real, GPS measured). With a hullspeed that should be around 5.5 we just...
Hey all of you E owners! I sail out of Sodus Point, Lake Ontario, NY.
Looking for other E owners for get togethers, rendez-vous, raft-ups, or
destination cruising. Anybody interested? Let's get together. See ya! JM.
