I have the (under headliner) teak trim collar down at present to start in on re-sealing the boot and also the SS plate that is thru-bolted on the outside, around the spar.
When we bought our boat this nicely machined piece of teak was broken in half, roughly / rudely.
I knew that it would always be at risk anytime the spar was lifted out in the future.
An easy, yet subtle, way was needed to take it apart in the future without breaking it again.
First I epoxied the oval "ring" back together...
