I recently bought anE27 and has a crack aong the rail just avobe the rub rail and before the chainplates.
I open the covers in the insight to asest the damage and the chainplates are intact, no damage in the deck to hull joint either.
seems that somethin hit from the side.
I see that a couple...
I've taken my mast down to replace the rigging and other worn out items. I have a mystery part that I don't know how to identify. I have a '73 E27 with what I understand is a Sparcraft masthead. There are two bolts that run through the masthead that have a fiberglass or ceramic sleeve over them...
I need info on a few projects I'm working on. raw water system, cockpit control panel, rigging, etc... I'm finishing up a restoration, well at least close to finishing and will be launching soon. E-mail me or we can talk directly the old fashioned way... by phone

Kathy and I have decided to move aboard. Our plan is to live aboard for a couple of years and then do an extended cruise. Unfortunately our 35-3 does not suit our needs for this type of endeavor.
I got this boat at auction several years ago for a song. The Atomic 4 was not working but all else seemed sound. I designed and installed a motor bracket on the transom and mounted a 25 HP outboard to be able to sail the boat. My dream was to do a complete restoration as I fell in love with the...

I just returned from racing the Dauphin Island race Mobile Bay. On the return trip I lost a bottom half of a turnbuckle for my E29. The pin is 5/16 and the threads are left-hand 3/8 thread. See attachment.

Once again, looking for opinions on what this might cost to have a yard do the work.
This is what most likely caused the shaft coupling corrosion, but is probably the least expensive to fix...except that the shaft will have to be removed to replace the connecting hose, which is sketchy at this...
Soliciting ideas on how this might be dealt with and what kind of cost I might be looking at if a yard does the work. This is on an E30+.
This is something I might be able to do myself. It's a Kenyon boom and I believe Rig Rite may be able to supply spare parts; if any aluminum welding is...
...and don't start with the Johnny Carson routine, "It's so bad..."
:)
I have some issues to deal with: Shaft coupling, boom corrosion and stuffing box. I'm going to post these in three different threads so there aren't too many pictures in one thread.
The boat is coming out for bottom...
Over the weekend, my v-belt broke. Further inspection indicated that what might be an "auxiliary water pump" seized, thereby stopping the rotation of one of the 3 pulleys around which the v-belt travels and causing the friction that caused the belt to break.
I'm not even 100% certain it is a...
E23-2 1975 just foward of the mast post in the cabin between the post and the foward berth housing there is a small square panel. Pull it up and you have a large plug with stopper in it. When you pull the plug it looks like the whole lake is flooding in!!!?? what the heck is this plug for,,,is...
The fitting in the picture was removed from the intake side of the raw water strainer, It was mounted on top of the raw water thru-hull valve. It seems to be a safety device, but I don't understand the exact function, how to activate it, and why it is safetied the way it is. The last time I...
The motor seems to be handling great and the boat has survived so far and the owner is under the dodger with me telling me about his bad luck the past few years and I am starting to wonder if he really does have bad luck as the waves crash over the beam.
At the 5 mile marker of our...
Long shot here but does anyone know the correct radiator cap for an M-50? I am sure there is a commanly available cap that I can get at an auto parts store but they are all a little different and the one I bought that I thought would work does not appear to be long/deep enough. I am hoping for...
Requesting help in obtaining a part, I believe it's called a "Cutlass Bearing"? It's found inside the strut that holds the propeller shaft, the shaft itself is 3/4 inch in diameter. It appears to be hard rubber or plastic. I've checked the usual places i.e. West Marine, Defender, etc. I may...
