Greetings fellow E34T owners. Would anyone have anything more specific on the rig tension settings. I have referred to the manual, but would welcome any comments or thoughts.
Thank you kindly,:egrin:

I am installing all new standing rigging and need the inital tension settings. I have looked in the manual but cannot locate it and I cannot search this site using more than 1 word otherwise I get an OR search.
I hate the description in the manual that says the wire should deflect so many...
While the test sail on the (project) 32-2 I'm in contract on went pretty well, I have some concerns.
Lower shroud tension .. At the dock and under sail the mast was in column. While the uppers stayed tensioned, the lowers had more slack than I expected even at 8 knots or so. The standing rigging...
Just a quick question for the rigging experts out there. I raised my brand new headsail today for the first time. When I went to furl it on the Harken unit, it was much more difficult than I remembered from last year.
Is furler operation affected by halyard tension, forestay tension or both...
Being new to my E25 (#137) and and having owned only fractional rigs before, I have questions about several things. Because a masthead rig is new to me, I'll start with rig tuning. I've read the posts here and on several web sites where opinions vary widely. So, I started with the owners manual...
ok, i think i've got as pretty good handle now on
tensioning my rig (E-25 c/b)- but, i also read alot
that too much tension over time is not good on the
chainplates, hull, etc- undue strain and all that...
so, do people loosen the rig back up at the dock?
or is a correct all around...
We are in the process of replacing(1-3 cables at a time)the standing rigging on our 1982 Ericson 38. We plan on tuning the rigging ourselves. Does anyone have the specifications for the tension we whould set the rigging to? Thanks in advance.
I am finishing up my hydralic BS adjuster install and I think I am going to be shortening my headstay a little as well, as I was never able to get the forestay sag the way I wanted without what I felt was too much rake. I would love to hear what other 38 owners are using for a base rake setting...
A few years ago, someone on the Ericson sailnet forum posted some rough guidelines for setting the tension for the stays and shrouds on an E27. I used them then, but have lost the posting. I've posted this request there, but figure that not everyone reads both, so... That said, I'd appreciate a...
Does anyone have the tension values for the standing rigging on a 25+? I have the Loos Gauge but no clue as to what the ball park tensions for the stays and shrouds should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Someone out there must set their own rigging up, or know what the factory set it...
Listmates, I have rod rigging on my 1989 Olson 34 (built by Ericson). The leeward shrouds are pretty loose, though the mast seems to stay in column. I don't suppose tension gauges work for rod rigging. How do I decide how tight the rods should be?
Thanks in advance,

A buddy was out in San Diego Bay just sailing around to relax single handing in his 22 foot Columbia, when his port side mid mast stay broke. He was able to stablize the mast with some extra rope he had aboard and get back to the dock, but he told me afterwards that it was a very tense moment...
Here's something I've always wanted to know:
When the wind is up, and I want to reduce sail on the jib (reefing it), I have to draw in the roller furl. When I do that (and the jib is partially deployed), it seems to me that there is a large amount of stress on the furling system, as it wants...
