does anyone complain about the small holding tank on the 36C? Has anyone replaced it (20 gallons I think) and if so with which size, style and make of tank? Much appreciated.
I just removed the old leaking gas tank in my 1978 E29, berthed in San Francisco. Any information on replacement tanks from people who have been down the same path would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Bob
Help!
I've started removing the original fuel tank from my 84 28+, and have run into the problem of the glassed in aluminum tabs not allowing me to remove the tank. I've cut away the plywood from the back, starboard, side of the tank, and can rock the tank up a few degrees, but it won't go any...
I am just beginning the shopping process for a new fuel tank for my 28+ and have come across a curious problem. My current tank, which is original, is mounted on the starboard side and is therefore shaped to fit the side of the boat. Also therefore, all the input and output devices are mounted...
Well I have fulfilled a dream of many, many years and today purchased a 28+ for my family. I'm excited, having fulfilled one of the two proverbial happiest days in my life and knowing that the other happy day is some years away! Now I have the usual, I would guess, laundry list of projects on a...
Here is progress on fuel tank replacement for the 74' 35II.
Went with 3/16 welded alluminum and electronic (Centroid) fuel sender.
The new tank fit easily in to the original footprint with an additional 18 GA.
I just increased the height by 10" and went from 22GA to 40GA.
Hope this helps...
I'm looking for info/pics/data on "the" factory holding tank solution for my 1975 E27.
I've searched here and elsewhere for "E27 holding tank" and "holding tank" and haven't found all that much...
Here's the scoop - on her (5 day) maiden voyage down the Chesapeake to her new...
How hard is this one? I want to thoroughly clean out the tank as I am getting sludge in my primary filter. Other option is to have someone like Petroscrub come and clean it but cost is not yet known. Assuming the tank is emptied how hard is it to physically get it out of the boat?
Thanks...
I saw technical literature on this somewhere most likely on this list, but I couldn't find it with the search. Can anyone providing the engineering rational to justify and/or dismiss aluminum, Stainless, or plastic.
thanks

Has anyone replaced the vent connector for the holding tank? I am speaking of the connector that passes through the hull topsides & is covered with a little clamshell vent cover. It connects to the 1/2" vent line. Ours is very rusted/corroded & was actually clogged causing incomplete pumpouts...
The fuel tank in my E-27 has decided to store its diesel in my bilge. It appears that 30 years is the life of the aluminum tank. I have followed the old threads on this and am now looking for the answers to the questions that have been raised. 1) While I have measured every dimension I am not...
I pulled my fuel tank and took it to a local "tank shop" for a new one. They LOST the tank. $%^&*((
I took approx dimensions of the exterior, but not location of the filler opening.
I looked at the docs in the Specs/Docs section and none for the fuel tank.
Anyone got a drawing?
If...
I am trying to figure out exactly or as close as I can, how much water tankage I have on my 1989 E 38-200. I have seen 3 different figures from the brochures and am not sure which one is correct. Right now I have the bow tank which I think is 35 gallons according to the "optional equip" list. I...
I am wondering if anyone can lead me to my fresh water holding tank? I am new owner of E35-2 1979, Hull 556 in New Orleans, LA, and the p/o sells the vessel with little knowledge of the boats systems. The pressure water pump seems to be sucking air, so I am going to refill the tanks, but I was...
We had our first sail this weekend with some guest on the boat ( 5 total). Pumped the tank before we left and filled it before we got back to the dock.
It looks like it may be about an 8gl tank.
Question is has anyone installed a Lectra/San on a E38? I have friend who has one on...
FYI to E27 Owners:
Today I just pulled the gas tank out of my '73 E27. It was much easier than I expected. Of course, I'm the "worrier" type that always thinks of the things that could go wrong.
Basically:
a) Cut the fiberglass cloth that holds the bottom of the tank short sides to the...
Can anyone recommend a good location for a propane locker on the E35-2? Any of the folk talking about it in January made progress at all? I am thinking of the transom area, but that would only allow a very small tank. Any thoughts on tank size for cruising?

For anyone who has changed the fuel tank on 35-III ..
Is there a specific size / model that you used that did not require any modifications ? and / or ...
If you went custom - do you have a copy of the drawing you used (I'm not sure the 35-II drawing I have is accurate - and I no longer...
Looking for a CNG tank for my 89 E 38-200. I am guessing that shipping one is not worth it. I'm in Annapolis MD and dont mind a reasonable drive to pick up. I currently have 1 tank but would like a backup.
I am working on a new vent arrangement for my settee tank. The old vent ran from the tank, which is near the v-berth door - starboard - to the galley sinks, which are aft starboard. Along the way the 1/2" hose was routed through and under cabinetry, as low as the cabin sole, before ending up at...
Removed six gallon bladder tank from under settee seat and I want to
replace it with a solid type plastic or stainless steel and also maybe
increase capicity. I need to find out the spec's or a manufacture that
will produce it the tank !!! Hathanger
Has anyone on the board installed a holding tank onboard? Our Raritan PH-1 crapped the bed last season. Seeing that it's the origninal toilet for the boat, 32 years of service aint bad.
We've made a decision to get an electric Raritan PH-2E. I've been looking at those Lectrasan units, and...
Can anyone recommend a source for a custom fuel tank?
Any thoughts on best material, and features I should make sure are added?

I'm having a lot of problems with either rust or varnish in my original 15 gallon steel tank. I've decided to replace it for greater confidence on trips.
The tank is 10" high X 16" wide X 24" long and located between the engine and rudder post. The long dimension is across the boat...
After a fairly smelly cruise this summer on my 1989 E38-200, I was thinking about replacing the waste hoses. But to do that on my boat requires removing or at least unmounting the holding tank. If I am going to go through all that trouble I thought I would replace the original Ronco tank...
I have a 76 E-27 with the split cockpit and unfortunately a leaky fuel tank. In searching the threads, I found 1 listing for a retro fit tank as the original tank will only come out with the assistance of a sawsall. The tank that was suggested, had a depth of only 7". That seems to me to asking...
Our original E23-II mechanical blueprints show a 19 gallon fresh water tank option under the cockpit sole, just aft of the bulkhead.
I'm curious if that tank was glassed in ? I have trouble imagining how it could have been installed after the deck/cockpit was fitted. I think we'll probably...
I was given an old gas tank over the weekend. Lots of dirt on the outside and perhaps inside too, so I washed it with soap and water. The outside dried completely, but the inside seems to never dry. When I turn the tank upside down, one drop of water always comes out. I'm wondering, is a gas...
Here's the background.
Every year I winterize my water system on my 1989 E-38 by disconnecting the water from, and bypassing, the water heater tank. Then every spring I hook it back up again. We typically never use the hot water aboard, so after a while of constantly being heated by running...
Hello,
I am hoping that someone out there knows where I can find a replacement fuel tank for my 38-200. It was manufactured by Custom Marine in Huntington Beach, CA in 1989. It is a 54 gallon aluminum tank, number 1722. I have had no luck finding the company that made it, and I am hoping that...
Enroute home after buying our new-to-us '76 E36C, we discovered a very small leak in the water tanks located under the cabin sole. It is a small leak, but fast enough to fill the bilge in two days. The problem is that there is NO ACCESS to the tanks, other than two small pull out pieces around...
I have a 1976 Ericson 36C and want to have two 20lb propane tanks on the boat. I am thinking about buying a premade fiberglass storage locker that holds the two tanks and putting it in the place of the teak cooler/console box in the cockpit. I would probably try to skin the outside with teak and...

I have an e-34t that has the water tank enclosed under the port side settee. this boat has been an on-going project and I have just recently hooked up the pressure water system in the small compartment just foreward of the tank where I found a 1/2" fitting comming out of the bottom of the tank...
Incorrect fuel tank gauges seems to be common problem. My 1987 E34 tank is supposed to hold 30 gallons. When I fill up the gauge will move only slightly until I crank up and then it moves begrudgingly to close to full but not quite. I use 11 gallons and the gauge shows slightly less than half...
I could not tell if the area under the front V-Berth (where the water and waste holding tanks are located) drains to the bilge. I would like to hose the area down. I guess I could simply try it but thought I would ask. Thanks in advance.

I have just purchased a 1978 Erickson 29 with an Atomic 4 gas and I am trying to find out what its fuel tank capacity is and what its general fuel consumption is. Appreciate your feedback.
I would like to change the fuel tank in my e27 equiped with a Atomic 4. I would like to get a permanent poly tank that has a fuel gauge.
 Has anyone removed the tank from the e27? Do I have to cut the deck? Is there a good tank out there that is of the same size without getting a...
I have a Honda 8hp mounted on the transon of my 1974 Ericson 27. I am planning on installing a permanent tank, and was curious if anyone else had done this, or had suggestions. My understanding from Honda is they recommend no more than 6 feet of fuel line and 3 feet of elevation. I am at this...
Hi everyone - I'm sure this a popular topic!
I have an Ericson 29 hull #190. I think that my holding tank is not original equipment and would like to replace it. The tank is a flixible tank installed in a locker in the forward half of the starbord setee. The access ports to the area are...
Hello Ericson owners,,, I need to install a holding tank in my 70 E-32. It appears that my locations are limited, under the port dinnete next to the bulkhead,or under the middle seat. I have been told that there isn't any room under the V-berth.Any suggestions??Are there any "off the shelf" tanks...
Hi all,
The fuel tank in my E-35 Mkll is not strapped in. Currently its V bottomed shape conformes to the hull's stern shape and two peices of 2x2 wood epoxied to the hull on each side of the tank keep the tank nesseled in snuggly. The fuel fill hose is the only force pushing the tank down...
I went to see Mean Jean for the first time this year, she is looking great. Sean, I was reading your holding tank project, this is on my list this year, right after my rudder bearing "fix", still deciding how to proceed. Anyway, you said "used an extended phillips driver to remove the lower...
I'm about to go ahead and order a new holding tank for

My 1980 came with two 25gal water tanks. The one under the sole right above the keel has sprung a leak. Has anyone ever renoved and replaced one. I have removed all of the fasteners from the portion of the sole above it but, it the sole still seems to held down by somthing. Did they glue it...
