I am looking at purchasing a '74 E25. The owner has indicated that the bulkhead around the chain plates has received water penetration. He has re-enforced the bulkhead. Two questions: Is this chain plate/bulkhead connection structural? If so, does this fix look solid?
E25 150 genoa for sale
I have a 150 genoa for a CB E25. No tears or damage. I would say that it is in fair to good condition. Asking $150.00.

I have a 1974 E 25 centerboard that needs core replacement on the cabin top. I need suggestions/advice from anyone who has done this repair and how to keep it from leaking and rotting again.
Sitting pretty, Homer, Alaska. Very solid, clean boat- Good trailer (all new brakes, electrical, tires, etc) New through hulls and standing rigging '06.
$10,000/obo- Bought a new (bigger) boat last fall and tired of paying mooring and insurance on two boats!

We lost the Keel while sailing and the keel is lost. We are looking for the specs to build a replacement keel. I reviewed the specs and documents page and it shows the general specs, but the drawings of the keel are not dimensioned. The information posted describes how the keel was built...
Does anyone have or know of a possible trailer that would handle my boat? It does'nt need to be in the best shape as long as it's solid enough to travel back to Wisconsin to be overhauled. I really am only willing to travel in the upper mid-west Ohio-ND and down to Tennessee. Thanks Rob
I think I want to purchase an Ericson 25+, but I have never seen, nor sailed one.
If anyone in south florida has a boat they would let me oogle over and maybe even take me for a quick sail, I would forever be in there debt.

The rubber gasket material on the portlights have shrunk/contracted as shown. Is this just a matter of age (they still feel resilient to the touch)?
Although they aren't obviously leaking, I may as well replace the gaskets while I'm fixing the other things, if someone can point me to a...
I made a surprising discovery on my e-25 while working on replacing the forward bulkhead just below the mast step. Once the bulkhead was removed, I discovered a stress crack on my starboard side chainplate that had progressed almost completely through the entire strap. I'd guess that less than...
Attached is a picture of my e25 masthead and the sheaves and spacers contained within. The boat still has the original wire/rope halyards. A previous owner must have added the extra (white) spacer shown -- causing a very tight fit. The sheaves were obviously not rotating as can be seen by the...
Hey Guys and Gals- There is a guy over on sailnet's forum that posted parts for a E-25. Just go to the Ericson section and you will see it. B'Gosh I feel like the town cryer. Rob Hessenius
Sadly, I lost the swing keel on my 1976 E25 as a result of lending the vessel to a friend who failed to raise the keel at the end of his voyage. Long story short, the low tides and resultant rocking action did the trick. When I returned from up north, and took her for a sail, I discovered the...
I have a 1976 E-25. Necessity is my first boat and I love her. I've only owned her for a couple of months, so this is my first of what probably will be a lot of questions.
The main halyard is on the right side of the mast, no winch.
There is a winch on the left side of the mast, which has...
I am a new owner of a 1972 25 cb model. I love the boat, but am just really getting to know it. I previously sailed extensively on my sisters E-23, which is why when this boat came up for sale, i jumped on it. I'm running a 100, 130, and 150 Genoa on various winds. On all the sails, I notice...
Can anyone tell me where to obtain information about where to place 'dry' or 'yard storage' stands -- to do bottom painting and inspect the centerboard.

I bought a 76 E25 this year and have a few questions. Does any one have pictures or sketches of the starboard settee berth sliding out to a double? I need to add this feature. Second, does the gooseneck slide up and down in the luff groove on the mast? I live a days drive from the boat and can't...

I attach four images of soft spots I found on the starboard bulkhead and scraped out today. The images are (from left to right) top cabin-side, bottom cabin-side, top head-side, and bottom head-side.
The remaining wood feels solid enough. The chainplate still seems to be attached solidly.

1974 E25 CB questions
I am in the process of looking for another boat, and a local broker has got a 1974 E25 CB for sale that looks interesting. Is there anything specific about this boat that the group dislikes? I have read the posts that say to keep an eye out for the CB pin, etc, but is...
I have an Ericson-25 that I'd like to sell or otherwise...
It's got a full keel (needing 3'10" of water to float), a tall rig, usable (but not new) sails and steps on the mast. The main and jib mounted on the boat work well though the starboard winch is seized and there's something wrong...
ok, maybe i'm going nuts... (always a possibility)
but i swear that, no matter what i do, there is a
very slight rake aft with my mast! i site up the
darn thing, tweak tension fore and aft- walk away
and look from a distance... and i'm just, still, really
not sure!
we're not...
OK, 2nd season with my E-25, but first time bending on the
mainsail- This should be pretty straightforward, right?
run her down the boom track, secure to outhaul, run up
track on the main... and sail must also be attached (by
'hook or by crook') where boom meets mast??
tips??

Does anyone know of a 25+ for sale along the east coast? If I can't find an E 25 plus, I would look at a 24 or 25 C & C. Need something in good shape as I'm past the age (54 years of sailing) to do project boats. Thanks for all the past info and jokes. We have found a buyer for our 35 and our...
SOLD - In the water at Lake Lanier and ready to sail away. Great trailerable 25 with a 27-size cabin. Very clean boat in good, age-appropriate condition. New navy vinyl upholstery cabin and V-berth, new curtains, sunbrella cockpit cushions, garhauer unibody blocks new running rigging. Low...
Cabrillo Marina is auctioning off a 1969 Ericson 25 next week - I think on Tuesday the 16th. Don't have any idea as to it's condition - lien sale boats are usually in poor shape, but can be a good way to get into boating if you are handy and know what you're getting into.

Does anyone have plans for the starboard berth extension. I kinda saw one on a E-25 on Craigs list today. Im really tired of trying to sleep up in the v-berth. I have drawn up some plans from "Good Old Boat" on a berth that you sleep across the cabin using a blow up mattress. I would like to...
It is with mixed emotions that I am selling my 1974 E25 CB. I LOVE this boat. It shows age appropriate wear but is in very good condition. New upholstery and running rigging, garhauer unibody blocks. Everything is there and it is honestly ready to sail. Located at Aqualand Marina, ZC71...
i seem to have a crack running part way through
the thin (lead?) 'shoe', or 'heel,' on the bottom of
my E-25 mast- also a motley selection of various-

holding the thing on-
anybody have a source for replacement for this?

My 1983 has a 12x10RH prop. After replacing the cutless bearing, shaft and coupling half this winter season, I now discover that the prop tip clearance is 9.2% or 1.11". From what I have learned the tip clearance should be 10% - 15% of prop DIA. What size props are the rest of us E25's...

It's finally springtime in Alaska and I'm getting 'Sparkle Plenty' ready for the water. Trailering to her winter storage last fall she sustained a slight dent, or 'ding', on one side of the mast where the spreader mounts with two bolts- It's actually at the bolt hole where continuous pressure...
My E25 did not come with the trailer mast raising option so I had to get these items built recently. There are some tricks to getting it right and when things go wrong, expensive things break. Maybe this is a revisit and a rehash of the obvious, but here it is, nonetheless.

This weekend I went out in 12-14 knt winds and with a reefed main and about a 90% jib (roller furling) I managed 4.2 - 4.7 knots measured by GPS (WAAS enabled). Later, when sailing downwind with the same sail configuration and wind strengths I was being pushed along at 4.7 - 5.0 knots, which...

SURPRISE Deux, an Ericson 25 would not make sternway no matter what I tried. While looking though the manual I found out that the boat should be powered with an extra long shaft outboard. The previous owner had this sternway problem too, only his solution was to go with more power, a 15 hp...

Hi all:
The Starboard main bulkhead in my '76 E-25 had significant rot on the lower 4 inches of it all the way across (it was a Florida boat in its previous life). I used a dremel cutter and cut all of the rot out. To fix I have cut 3/8 cdx to fit the bottom 22 inches on both sides and have...

HI TO ALL ON THE EXCHANGE. I just found a very nice 1974 Ericson 25. The only problems are broken mast and no centerboard. The mast will be easy to replace, but the centerboard is a different story. I was wondering if anyone here can help me get measurements so that I can make one, or knows...

My E-25 has the topping lift connecting to the split backstay. This can be pretty inconvienent at times especially if needing to drop the mainsail in preparation for a storm.

Since I am in the process of rebuilding my '73 E25, I am going to replace the aging 8hp 4 cycle Honda outboard. I am thinking of moving the outboard to a bracket mounted on the port side of the transom and using a 6 hp, 4 cycle Mercury or Yamaha. The current 8hp pushes me along very easily and...

Here's question for all you smaller Ericson owners . I have a 73 E-25 with the swing keel and the mast pivots down from the cabintop fitting for trailering. There is a small fitting that in normal operation sets the position of the boom in the track of the mast. This consists of a slug that...
I know this one's a long shot, but here goes. I've got what I believe to be the original over-cabin, 3/4 boom, traveler system on my 1973 E25, and the sheaves in the blocks are shot. Complicating this, is that I have been unable to find any identifying marks on the blocks other than an "S" or...

How do I check the centerboard/swing keel pin or whatever? I am pulling the boat on monday and this sounds like a good time to check. This is the first time I have had the chance to check. By the way, I love the boat!
